Introduction of Facelift’s New Water-fed Poles

An interview with Steve Blyth and Shawn Gavin about the new Facelift waterfed poles coming out soon! Facelift is looking to get back into the US market with their pole range in Aluminum Alloy to Hi-Modulous Carbon Fiber.

Improved clamps are now small and easy to manipulate. The lever flips down so it wont hang at the edge of the gutter. Alot of thought has gone into the clamp design, the main change is the 45 degree angle between the clamps to prevent finger pinches.

What Hose Reel Do I Choose?

Whats a hose reel?
A Hose Reel is a cylindrical spindle made of either metal, fiberglass, or plastic and is used for storing a hose. The most common styles of hose reels are spring driven (which is self retracting), hand crank, or motor driven. Hose reels are categorized by the diameter and length of the hose they hold, the pressure rating and the rewind method. Hose reels can either be fixed in a permanent location, or portable and attached to a truck, trailer, or cart.

Why do I need one?
Our main reason for selling hose reels is for use with waterfed poles.  The main benefit of having a hose reel is to help alleviate hose tangles with longer hoses.

Which one should I choose?
There are many hose reel options out there. But which one is right for you. If you’re looking for a portable reel, the cox caddy reel or the RHG Aluminum reel might be the one for you. If you hate having to hand crank or are working by yourself, it would be easier to go with the electric reel.  If you have very long hose that you also want to port along with you, the dolly reel would be your choice.

The Importance of Maintaining Your RHG RO/DI System

Your RHG RO/DI Pure Water system is an investment in your pure water cleaning business or personal cleaning application. Like any investment, your RO/DI system requires a working knowledge and regular maintenance.

Deionization Resin filter cartridges will remove mineral impurities from water without the aidfrom the other filter cartridges included in RHG RO/DI systems. DI Resin, however, has a limited life span based on the amount of impurities it is removing from the water it is filtering. To extend the life of the DI cartridge, RHG pure water systems include one or two Reverse Osmosisfilter cartridges. 21” RHG RO membranes, for instance, are rated to remove 99% of impurities at 150psi water pressure. RHG RO membranes are rated for zero chlorine tolerance. So our systems also include a carbon cartridge to pre-filter out any chlorine from tap water before it is filtered by the RO/DI system.

TDS Creep:

When first starting your RO/DI system, there will usually be a spike in the amount of impurities the RO membranes fail to reject. This is called TDS creep. To maximize the life of your DI filter cartridge, you want to be sure that your RO cartridge(s) are functioning at their best before hooking them up to your DI cartridge. Here is an EZ Pure Caddy system and our powered AquaClean R4 system shown with the DI filter cartridge unhooked from the system.

The systems can be run in this configuration to isolate the RO cartridges and test their performance.

System Flushing, Storage, and Maintenance:

RHG RO membranes are designed to filter water on a constant basis. For longest RO service life, flush your RO cartridges at least 20 minutes per week whether or not you are currently using your pure water system. Extended periods of disuse can allow impure water to collect in an area of the RO membrane and leave sedimentary deposits, potentially ruining your RO. ROs can and should be flushed separately of your DI cartridge, as the purpose of flushing ROs is to clean them, not to produce pure water. To most thoroughly flush your RO(s),run water through them with your bypass valve in the fully open position for about one minute. Close the bypass valve and begin production. Test the RO water. If the ROs are removing at least 90% of the mineral contentdetected by your TDS meter at normal tap pressure, they are clean and functioning properly. If they are not removing about 90% or greater, open your bypass valve and allow the RO to flush. After about 30 seconds close the bypass valve and test the production water. If the TDS number has come down but is not in the desirable range, leave the RO(s) in production mode for a few minutes and flush them again. Repeat this process until the ROs are producing the target range of purity. Finally, open the bypass valve and allow the RO(s) to be thoroughly flushed. Regular and thorough maintenance of your ROs will shorten this process.
