Aqua-dapter™ is a water fed pole on/off flow controller, developed by window cleaners, for window cleaners.

It's the fastest, easiest way to control water use.


Wasted water costs you money:

• buying resin
• if you have an onboard system:
  • increased fuel costs (either carrying more water than you need or travelling to refill)
  • charges for metered water usage

There are problems with existing methods of water flow control:

• Kinking the hose means keeping one hand on the hose, or leaving the water running while you extend or collapse the pole.

• Remote controls need batteries and you have to be within range for them to work.
• Holsters attached to your waist mean you are attached to the hose. As well as feeling rather restrictive, you can also get the problem of wet trousers!

The Aqua-dapter™ has been specifically designed to overcome these, and other, problems associated with water flow control!

How does it work?

It is fitted to the end screw/tip of your water fed pole, then your existing brush can be screwed on to the end of the Aqua-dapter.

The hose goes down the inside of your water fed pole, allowing you to switch the water flow on or off by simply pulling on the hose at the bottom of the pole.

The tap can also be turned manually if you are working on ground level windows.

Heard a lot of good about this gadget. To install it some say you can heat the glue on your pole to remove the tip rather than cut the end of the pole off.

My question is a bit rookieish as I am still researching for my first WFP gear. I wonder what happens to the pump when the water is off. does it just keep on running with no water flow? Is that ok or will it burn out doing that too much? Is there a difference regarding running a pump with the water off between 12V and 120V pump motors?

No, that was the Mk1. The Mk2 can be fitted to a pole without any modification to the pole being needed.

Most pumps will have a pressure switch that protects the pump from damage. Even so, it's not advisable to use any tap to leave the water off for prolonged periods (e.g. 20-30mins) as the pump may 'pulse' occasionally, increasing pressure in the hose, and causing problems with hose ballooning or connectors blowing. For a few moments/minutes at a time, there should be no problem.

It's designed to be the simplest way to switch the water on/off.

However, when working on ground floor windows, you can partially turn the wheel on the top to adjust the flow rate. When working on upper windows, you can reduce the flow by pulling gently on the hose, but it hasn't been specifically designed to do this. To return to full flow you'd need to switch it off and then on again.

ok, I would prob buy one if it had a valve for the flow.

It's better really to control the flow either with an inline tap, or better still a flow controller.

Not sure how popular these are in the US yet, but something like this http://www.springltd.co/node/104 is ideal when used with the Aqua-dapter for controlling the flow and also prolonging the life of the pump and battery.

The Aqua-dapter™ gets excellent reviews, I'm sure you wouldn't regret getting one!
