I've been thinking of ways to market ad on's power washing. And was looking at craigslist. And seen this ad.
Get ready for spring by having your house pressure washed and we will clean your gutters free of charge. Along with your house, we also offer pressure washing for your driveway, sidewalks, decks, ect.
What your option on this ad. I know free always get attention. Help me guy's. I want to get this rocking.
1) Well it is not really free is it?
They have to pay for the siding work.
2) Are gutters on enough houses and will enough need to be cleaned ??
those that don't will not see the value.
3) all houses have windows, maybe clean 4 or 5 windows
as part of the house pressure washing
(or do the windows get cleaned when the pressure wash is done
already?)
Anyway the Idea was for something more universal
1)Yes, It would in some cases it would be free. Specially if the down spouts are plugged. Always need to hook up and flush gutters. Because if you don't whats the use of doing them.
2) Yes we have tons of gutters here in the Heart Of American. Also known as Show Me State. We grow big trees and they have big leafs and at the end of those small limbs fall in the gutters.
3) All the houses do have windows Steve and yes I've been thinking about that offering and outside FREE window cleaning with soft wash of house. Now power washing drive ways ect. Maybe free windows cleaning or 1/2 price gutter cleaning down spouts flushed. Or maybe 10 windows cleaned Free.
4) I try to explain to people about gutter the down spouts need cleaned. Because that directs the rain water away from the house and prevents damage. 2 if the down spouts are plugged the water fills the gutter and spills over the gutter fills and sets. Thats alot of weight and it can pull the gutter away from the facial board. Then you have a big problem.
Yeah I could see how it may help in that area of the country
At my house the #1 downspout clogger is a tennis ball.

Funny, I would have thought it was alot of golf balls.
Speaking on discounts.. Read in Legal & Illegal marketing that is illegal to offer any type of discount or amount off, before the comsumer knows the original price. This keeping companies from adding the discount into quote for full payment of services. Mis-leading the consumer... Opinions?

Easy situation to fix. Except for in the spring and any other time that I'm very busy, I have a semi-permanent 20% off sale.
When doing estimate, i make 100% sure that I tell the client what the original price would be FIRST, then I tell them what the price is with the discount. Then I tell them the price difference.
Not only does that put me in a good legal situation, but its also a good way to close a sale.
