RE: Power Washing Wood Fence
there are tons of tricks, but the first one is charge enough! i don't do a lot of wood restoration because I find it hard to get the kind of money that it's worth. you need to look into the restoration process. you have to know what kind of coating is already on the wood, and be able to recognize whether or not it has failed. if it has failed you need to know how to strip it, then neutralize the pH of the wood. Then the wood needs to dry enough to get a reading of 15 or less on a moisture meter. usually takes a few days. Then you're ready to stain (not seal - sealing does very little to protect the wood). THEN you've got to know what kinds of stains are even worth using. Ready Seal is a popular one. The main thing is, use a penetrating oil stain. Semi-transparent usually looks best in my opinion. Now you have to know how to apply stains without creating lap marks. I think i might be creating more questions than I'm answering.

Don't let the cleaning solution sit for more than 10 to 15 minutes or it will dry and leave residue.

Pressure wash using a deck wash (olympic) wait 24hrs and apply olympic or cobalt stain or sealer is my advise. Brush on the deck wash the spray rinse. Using a sprayer is fine if you are familiar with coating requirements, Brush is golden always and these stains go on fast and easy without issues of lap marks. Key move quickly..

for the job to be done easily and efficiently proper tools are to be needed, keep the Water pressure between 500 to 800 psi then follow the below steps positively:
1. Hold the tip of the sprayer about 3-4 feet away from the fence.

2. At this distance, a fan shaped spray will be created that would help you to clean larger area more effectively and quickly.

3. if the fence is more dirty then come closer with the spray and concentrate on the particular area.

4. Work the pressure washer in arcs over the surface of the fence.

5. just keep in mind that don't let the cleaning solution sit for more than 10 to 15 minutes or it will dry and leave residue.

6. Rinse with plenty of fresh water.
Best of your good luck.
