Painted window sills
I have a new customer who owns their commercial property and they take care of the maintenance themselves. Their concern is the effect window cleaning solutions have on the painted window sills. They claim that the previous window cleaner used cleaning products that caused them to paint more frequently then they liked. What chemicals and techniques have the least negative effects on painted wooden surfaces?

Using your mop to caught the water before it hits the sill. And always have a dry towel just in case. This is how we do it. Also some window cleaners use a spray bottle to wet the window. GG4 and quick wipe with a dry towel. wet does affect wood painted surface and as soon has the sun hits it its fried. Solution are no solution wet isn't good for inside sill's.

The biggest concern with interior window cleaning on large commercial panes (while fanning) is the excess water. Learn this technique and save yourself many headaches.

RE: Painted window sills
These sections represent one of the weakest parts of the building as far as weather durability is concerned, and neglect of their preservation will prove costly when painting window sills. A good deal of faulting from this source is caused by the quality of the stopping itself, although many cases, occur through the lack of care in re-glazing. When new glass is being put into a sash, the rebate or bed should be painted with priming paint before the bedding putty is run in. This will give the putty something to adhere to and also prevent damage to the sash at a later date if any moisture should penetrate the putty.
