Ladder sections too hard to seperate
A long time user of metallics aluminum sectionals ,and cant imagine using anything else, but the last sets of sections i have purchased have had the same problem. The problem is that the pieces are too hard to separate once stacked and weight put on them without having to walk the ladders down , which defeats the purpose. I am looking for any tips on how to solve this problem. thanks

RE: Ladder sections too hard to seperate
The Metallic Sectional ladders are thicker and heavier than the old Alaco Sectionals and they do fit snug. You may want to try a little Emery Cloth on the locking bars and inside the stirrups to make connecting and disconnecting a bit smoother and not quite so difficult.

I finally took a metal file and took a little bit off a little bit at a time until the ladders were snug but not to snug. It worked for me. The folks at Metallic Ladder probably wouldn't approve of my solution. Best Regards Mike |

I use sectional ladders, with ladder levers and 97p Werner stand offs. How do they work on the inside of the house? I've heard they give you the right angle on the glass. Paul Show me Cleaning |

Quote:I use sectional ladders, with ladder levers and 97p Werner stand offs. Hey Paul, I think using a standoff with a sectional ladder kinda defeats the purpose of using a sectional ladder. The pointed top is half the reason they are so great and you can't use the pointed top if you put standoffs on the ladder. Best Regards Mike |

RE: Ladder sections too hard to seperate
They work well inside a house, once you get them to where you can take them apart without a struggle.
You can easily carry 3 pieces upright in close quarters - even through a doorway. The same amount of extension ladder has to go in horizontally, which makes it harder to avoid property damage. You can bring sectionals into an elevator, too. Gary Mauer Window Cleaning Network Oconomowoc, Wisconsin www.window-cleaning.net Next Picnic - July 30, 2011 |

RE: Ladder sections too hard to seperate
Avoid heart-stopping ladder experiences! You can also get a muti-tray that will fit on the ladder -max that way you can just lay what tools you need on the tray.
