If you choose and use the right equipment, your home, office or cleaning business will benefit and provide a healthier environment.
There are several choices in vacuum cleaners depending on the job required. Upright vacuum, canister vacuums and hand held vacuums are perfect for indoor and home vacuuming.
Hiring house cleaners to keep your home looking its best at all times is an ideal solution for homeowners who want to avoid the hassle of cleaning their homes themselves.

1.Vacuuming your home: One of the main tasks house cleaners perform in your home is vacuuming your carpets. Dust, dirt, and hair tend to collect on your carpets and can make them look and feel dirty, so house cleaners vacuum your carpets regularly to prevent such buildup.
2.Dusting: House cleaners dust all hard surfaces, including ceiling fans, windowsills, ledges, shelves, baseboards, and decorative items. This keeps dust from building up in your home and causing allergy issues for you and your family.
3.Removing trash: Removing trash is not only essential to prevent foul odors in your home, but also to ensure it does not attract unwanted pests. Most house cleaners take out your trash when they clean your home, which also keeps your home aesthetically pleasing.
4.Changing beds: Clean sheets indicate a clean home, and most house cleaners change your beds when they visit your home.
5.Cleaning glass door surfaces: Dirty glass can make your entire home look unappealing and can make it difficult to see through glass doors and windows. Therefore, house cleaners generally clean your glass door surfaces to prevent a buildup of grime.
6.Cleaning hard-surface floors: Hard-surface floors tend to collect dust and other particles that not only make your home look unappealing, but also can cause allergy issues for you and your family. House cleaners sweep and mop all hard-surface floors in your home.
7.Cleaning exteriors of cabinets: Professional house cleaners clean the exteriors of all your cabinets to ensure your home is aesthetically pleasing.
8.Cleaning inside oven: Most housekeepers clean inside your oven to prevent any burnt food from building up and causing foul odors when you use your oven.
9.Scrubbing toilet, tub, and shower: Your bathroom is one of the most essential places in your home that house cleaners keep clean for you, as it can otherwise develop soap scum, grime, and emit foul odors.
10.Cleaning sink and faucets: House cleaners clean all sinks and faucets in your home to prevent grime and bacteria from building up in these areas.

You should clean your skylights once or twice a year to keep the grime from building up, and permanently damaging the surface, especially on Plexiglas skylights. The grime and dirt can cause minute scratches to Plexiglas skylights, which will leave them with a clouded appearance. This can be expected for older skylights, as Plexiglas degrades over time, or even for new skylights in areas that have acidic rainfall. One great, albeit unusual tip, for Plexiglas and regular glass, is to wax the skylight with an automotive paste wax after it has been cleaned thoroughly. A couple coats of wax, will protect against environmental damage, and will make rainfall bead off.

If the skylight is flat glass, use a squeegee on the end of a broom stick or extension pole. See the Window section for specific instructions. For ‘bubble’ style lights, use a regular glass cleaner. If the skylight can not be reached by hand, try spraying some window cleaner on a clean rag draped over a broom. Replace that rag with a fresh, dry rag, to wipe off any residue and prevent streaks.

Philly / South Jersey This Saturday the 13th

I have a rather long layover in Philly on Saturday the 13th of October, this Saturday. I was talking to Colom with Precision Power Wash in southern New Jersey and he wanted to get together, have a meal and hang out. We thought is would be cool to open this up to other moble cleaners and soft washers in the area. What do y'all think?

I am flying in from a consulting trip in Canada at 2:16 pm, so I will need to go through customs. That should take an hour. Colom says his place is about 40 min from the Philly airport. So lets say meet at Colom's shop at 4:00 pm. Colom has an "entertaining area" onsite at his place of business that has been done up like a sports bar. He has graciously agreed to supply the food and beverages.

So we will meet at Precision Power Wash at 4:00 pm till about 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 13th for anyone who wants to meet & greet.

Please respond here in this post or reply to this e-mail if you are coming so we can plan for you and the food.

Cleaning windows is a genuinely dangerous occupation and it isn't worth taking a fall for a few pennies. There are several window cleaning related deaths every year. Don't add yourself to this list by being a reckless practitioner of our trade.

* Don't Place the ladder at a stupidly shallow angle because you're just asking for it to slip out on you.Where possible have somebody foot your ladder or use a ladder stopper.
* Don't lean your ladders on gutters but rather place the top of the ladders under them.
* Do avoid leaning your ladder on window sills because not only is it dangerous from being slippery, but it can damage/mark the sill itself.
* When you're on your ladder don't lean really far across trying to a reach a window, go down your ladder and move it across to where you are trying to reach. You should have three points of contact on the ladder at all times. That means two feet and one hand.
* Be careful about the ground you place your ladder upon. Don't place a ladder on a patch of ground where somebody has just knocked over a giant box of ball bearings for example.

Wipe very dirty windows with a damp cloth. Don't rub dirt because it will scratch the glass. With a clean sponge or cloth lightly wet the window. Don't flood it! When using a squeegee, tilt at an angle to the glass, so only about one-inch of the rubber blade presses lightly against the top of the window glass. This will leave a dry area across the top of the window and stop drips from running down on your clean window. Wipe the blade of the squeegee with a damp cloth each time. A dry blade on dry glass will skip. Next place the squeegee horizontally in the dry area and pull down, lapping over the dry clean area each time. Continue until you have finished the window. Finish by wiping off the window sill. Windows can be cleaning from either side or from the top using this technique.

Here are some cleaning tips,

* Buffing a marble tabletop with car polish leaves a thin, invisible film that helps reduce the risk of stains.
* Light a match and let it burn a few seconds to remove toilet smells.
* To stop bathroom mirrors steaming up, regularly rub a dry bar of soap over the surface and rub in with a clean cloth.
* To pick up small fragments of broken glass, press pieces of bread onto the affected area.
* To prevent ash from flying everywhere when cleaning out a fireplace, use a spray bottle filled with water to cover the ashes with a light mist.

Always test a small area on and unseen spot on the upholstery first to be sure there are no adverse affects.
If you have a fresh stain always blot with a clean white towel first to absorb as much of the spill before having to put out the cleaning supplies. Often immediate blotting with remove much if not all of the spill.
